WASHINGTON, DC - Hidden deep in Senator Christopher Dodd’s 630-page Senate housing legislation is a sweeping provision that affects the privacy and operation of nearly all of America’s small businesses. The provision, which was added by the bill’s managers without debate this week, would require the nation’s payment systems to track, aggregate, and report information on nearly every electronic transaction to the federal government.

Strange Bedfellows meet on FISA
UPDATE: There’s some new info just coming out on the FISA bill that we’ll have up in a little while. It looks like a ummm….compromise a giveaway deal has been struck: “ACLU Condemns FISA Deal, Declares Surveillance Bill Unconstitutional

So far we’ve raised over 100K in less than 30 hours on our latest push back against the new FISA bill that might get passed. If you haven’t donated, please do. We’re working up a plan for our next targets.

We’ve started a new coalition with the ACLU called Strange Bedfellows

The ACLU is joining with activists from the Ron Paul campaign, represented by Break the Matrix, Rick Williams and Trevor Lymon, and civil liberties writer Glenn Greenwald of Salon, and leading liberal bloggers including, Jane Hamsher of firedoglake, Matt Stoller of Open Left, John Amato of Crooks and Liars, Howie Klein of Down with Tyranny, Digby, Josh Nelson of The Seminal and activist Josh Koster to tell Congress that we will not let them ignore the Constitution or give immunity to telecoms which deliberately broke our laws for years.

We are not sitting back while Congress is having negotiations—trying to figure out a way to grant the Telecoms immunity for breaking the law repeatedly when you and I would have been thrown in jail and waterboarded by Rumsfeld for not paying parking tickets…Anyway, we ran ads against Chris Carney (Comcast actually rejected one of our ads against him. Ha!) and now we’re setting our sights on Steny Hoyer and another Blue Dog. But Phase 1 is still underway so please help us out…Here’s somebody I’m not particularly fond of, especially with Regina Thomas, a progressive state Senator running against him. I give you John Barrow…

‘Pentagon Papers senator’ calls for new 9/11 probe
By Jefferson Siegel

Skeptics of the government’s explanation regarding details of the September 11 attacks are trying to put the issue before a larger audience. In an attempt to place a call for a new investigation on November’s ballot, the 9/11 Truth group welcomed former U.S. Senator Mike Gravel to St. Mark’s Church on Tuesday afternoon.

“It’s crunch time,” Gravel said, noting the group hopes to amass at least 40,000 signatures in the next three weeks for a citywide ballot initiative for the November election. The group already has 12,000 signatures.

“This may be our last hope to bring about a serious investigation,” Gravel, who also ran for president earlier this year, told a crowd of several dozen in the plaza facing the church.

“It’s more of a citizens commission rather than a government commission,” he explained.

“The referendum would allow for a legally sanctioned commission with subpoena powers,” said Reverend Frank Morales, a St. Mark’s associate pastor and a member of the 9/11 Truth movement.

Critics Demand Resignation Of U.N. Official Who Wants Probe Of 9/11 “Inside Job” Theories
Source: fauxnews.com
6/19/2008

Critics are calling for the resignation of a U.N. official who publicly supports investigating theories that the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were an “inside job.”

Richard Falk, the special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, investigates alleged Israeli violations of human rights law for the U.N.’s Human Rights Council.

But the former Princeton professor would also like to investigate whether “some sort of controlled explosion from within” destroyed the Twin Towers, he told FOXNews.com.

“I do think there are questions that haven’t been answered, questions about the way the buildings collapsed and the failure to heed a variety of signals that there was danger coming,” Falk said.

“I think [his beliefs are] fruitcake city, but among many delegations to the U.N. it’s probably the conventional wisdom,” said John Bolton, a former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. known for his straight talk on U.N. hypocrisy.

(WRH: Translation: Israel wants Falk out of the UN, both because he doesn’t “buy” the official story on 9/11, and because he has been highly critical of Israeli treatment of Palestinians.

Toronto 18 Terror Story Continues to Unravel
For background on this story, watch the documentary Unfair Dealing. -rep.)

Alleged bomb plot defendant unaware of any plans: RCMP informant
A young man on trial in Brampton, Ont., for his role in an alleged bomb plot in the Toronto area in 2006 was kept in the dark by the other accused and treated like “sheep, non-entities,” an RCMP and CSIS mole testified Monday.

Mubin Shaikh, the Crown’s star witness, played down the role of the defendant, who cannot be named because he was under 18 at the time of his arrest in June 2006.

Shaikh said the accused, one of four youths picked up by police and CSIS agents two years ago, was not aware that a weekend training exercise held in a resort area north of Toronto was supposed to hone their skills as militant fighters.

The young men were told the winter camping trip was part of a Muslim religious retreat, not a terror training exercise as the Crown has alleged in documents submitted to court, he said.

Gov’t says FBI agents can’t testify about 9/11
“Government lawyers say the ongoing investigation into the Sept. 11 attacks could be compromised if the airline industry is allowed to seek more information from the FBI to defend itself against lawsuits brought by terrorism victims.

In papers filed late Tuesday, the government urged a judge to block aviation companies from interviewing five FBI employees who the companies say will help them prove the government withheld key information before the 2001 attacks.

The lawyers said it would be impossible to interview the employees without disclosing classified or privileged material that could “cause serious damage to national security and interfere with pending law enforcement proceedings.”

“The harm described is not hypothetical and cannot be lightly dismissed,” according to the court papers submitted by the office of U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia. “Investigators continue to seek out those parties responsible for the 9/11 attacks who remain at large.”

More Power for the Fed as the Central Bank Cooks the Books
Flip through the footnotes to the Fed’s latest annual report, and you’ll come across an open secret. The Fed doesn’t follow normal accounting rules, as promulgated by any of the major standard-setting boards. Rather, the Fed writes its own, in a document called the Financial Accounting Manual for Federal Reserve Banks.

If you ever wanted to design an accounting regime to help a bank cook its books, the Fed’s would be perfect. This doesn’t exactly inspire faith in the U.S. financial system, at a time when a good example might help a lot.

The testimony occurred in a hearing on Lindauer’s competence to stand trial held before U.S. District Court Judge Loretta Preska, Southern District of New York, in lower Manhattan. On March 11, 2004, Lindauer was arrested for acting as an “unregistered agent” for the nation of Iraq prior to the U.S. invasion. DR. NO MARCHING ON MINNEAPOLIS
The minutes revealed that the fraud was even worse than Mrs. Cahill had suspected. After the precinct caucus, Bertuzzi and others illegally added 151 delegates to the county convention. They did so because, without those illegal “delegates,” the Ron Paul delegates would have outnumbered them. The illegal Bertuzzi “delegates” reversed the outcome. It gets worse. Thirty six of those illegal “delegates” had not voted in the primary, which disqualified them. Another RPT rule says that if you don’t vote in the primary you cannot be a delegate, so those thirty six were doubly illegal.

Paul supporters continue fight within Idaho GOP
But Rick Martin, who lost a Buhl precinct race as well as contests for committee chairman and state delegate, said the fact that the delegates didn’t attend the convention when Paul supporters were ready and willing was clear discrimination.
“They purposefully nominated what I call ‘ghost delegates’ to block freedom and opportunity of Ron Paul supporters,” said Martin, who attended the convention as a guest. Paul, the libertarian-leaning Texas congressman, suspended his presidential campaign last week.

War, Economy Can’t Be Decoupled
What is the importance of the war in Iraq relative to other current antiwarissues? This is a question I am often asked, especially as Americans continue to become increasingly aware that something is very wrong with the economy. The difficulty with the way the question is often asked relates to the perception that we are somehow able to divide such issues, or to isolate the cost of war into arbitrarily defined areas such as national security or international relations. War is an all-encompassing governmental activity. The impact of war on our ability to defend ourselves from future attack, and upon America ’s standing in the world, is only a mere fraction of the total overall effect that war has on our nation and the policies of its government.

Fujita in Berlin - International 9/11 investigation
You Tube

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Mr Fujita is an important person to step forward to ask hard questions about 9/11 and the “War on Terror”

TRANSCRIPT:
“I have been meeting some politicians in Germany, UK, Italy and the European Parliament. And I think that some of the politicians, some of them are reserved and some of them are like minded in different countries. The time may be coming as Mr. [Tony] Blair has gone, Mr. Bush will be gone, and last week in the US Congress Mr. Kucinich and others passed the impeachment motion. And it was passed.

I think the time has come that more policy makers and politicians get together to make a joint appeal to request for an independent international investigation of what happened on 911.

And I think that the way the USA has led the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq needs some examination.

And I think that the suffering people have suffered enough, in so many countries. And so many innocent people have been killed and injured.

I think that it’s time to turn the tide from the policies of warfare to the policy of reconciliation and development.

It’s not fair the stronger nations to start wars, and the weaker nations, the civilians, have to suffer so much.

And I think that thanks to the internet, which is an invention of the military, now the citizens can have access to first hand information, PDFs, DVDs and pictures. So some people who have been able to hide cannot hide anymore.

So the combined efforts of citizens, politicians and experts in the different fields, now the time has come for us to work together to make a safer society in the world.”

Following the close of Ron Paul’s presidential campaign, the Libertarian small government timesParty thanked Paul for all that he had done for liberty in his presidential bid. “Paul fought an uphill battle for liberty every day in his presidential campaign against all of the big-government juggernauts of the Republican Party,” says Libertarian Party spokesperson Andrew Davis.

Enough Already!
The eulogies for Tim Russert ignore his role as the War Party’s sounding board
antiwarWhen Paul raised the issue of U.S. intervention in the Middle East as fueling al-Qaeda’s jihad and support for bin Laden, Russert fell back on that old neocon canard: “So you see a moral equivalency between the West and Islamic fascism.”
When Paul pointed out that Bush was intent on invading Iraq just as soon as he got into office, and his war moves had little to do with 9/11, Russert’s response was open hostility:

WHY RON PAUL MADE THE MOST BRILLIANT MOVE IN POLITICAL HISTORY ..First off he did not quit!
For those of you or others you know of who think so, you’ve been duped ronpaulforpresident2008like the rest of the MSM…. What he has done is Beyond brilliant!!! Let me show you some points…
—Power & Influence….imagine 200,000 people or more in his new organization..calling a group of Senators on a committee to pass some new legislation–emailing, faxing, etc…..NO SINGLE CONGRESSPERSON HAS THAT MUCH POWER IN CONGRESS RIGHT NOW!!! (or 200,000 people chip in 20.00 to elect a new Senator or governor…raising 4 million dollars in 24 hrs!!! NOW THATS SOME POLITICAL POWER!!!
—He can still accept the nomination for the President… while accomplishing all of the above….now who is brilliant, who is not dropping out??? Answer: RON PAUL

Taking Measure of the Revolution
Much of the movement’s strength can’t be measured at all. Consider, for campaign for libertyexample, how much knowledge and technical expertise supporters of Dr. Paul have acquired over the past year, through their experience in everything from grassroots political organizing (as precinct leaders, for instance) to building websites and on-line communities and YouTube videos to reading deeply about economics, Constitutional government, and the free society. These intangibles count for a lot: a single experienced, energetic Ron Paul supporter is worth dozen (maybe a hundred) torpid party regulars.
