I wrote a story the other day advising John McCain to pick Ron Paul as 
his VP, a genius idea that he has no chance of actually listening to. The main reason I thought of it was that Paul has so frequently humiliated McCain (and the GOP also-rans) during the debates. Why not use that weapon against his Democratic opponent?
Of course, this led me to an even greater stroke of genius, because it actually has a chance at success. I floated the idea on yesterday’s Obama conference call. Here’s the abridged exchange:

Democracy for Thy, but not for Thee
There will be no debate at the GOP convention, not if the party brass 
and McCain can help it. 70% of Americans want a change in our policy in Iraq and yet the Republican Party plans to seal itself inside the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul immune to call for change that comes from the country at large and will certainly come from outside the convention hall. They will pretend not to hear it and perhaps deny it´s even being said. Only a brave few Ron Paul supporters will be inside this bubble, the bubble that has engulfed this party since 2002, trying to prick the consciousness of the delegates and those watching at home. They will be no doubt be brutalized (mentally and or physically) and be ridiculed but at least they´ve made it inside to try.

A YouTube-based, political cover/parody act calling itself The Free Bees rewrote the lyrics of the 1970s disco anthem and Saturday Night Fever theme Stayin’ Alive to promote the theory that the tragedy of 9/11 was a home-grown conspiracy.
The song and video (above), 9/11’s a Lie, kicks off with the lyrics, “Well you can tell, By the way the buildings fell, There was something wrong, Now it’s time to tell…” The refrain includes “Whether you’re a brother, Or whether you’re a mother, 9/11’s a lie, 9/11’s a lie, Neo-cons are shaking, The world has started waking, 9/11’s a lie, 9/11’s a lie…”

Sunday, June 8, 2008, marked the last day of this year’s annual Bilderberg meeting, which took place in Chantilly, Virginia. The American Friends of Bilderberg, an American Bilderberg front group, which organizes the American participant list for the annual Bilderberg conference, issued a rare press release this year. It stated that, “The Conference will deal mainly with a nuclear free world, cyber terrorism, Africa, Russia, finance, protectionism, US-EU relations, Afghanistan and Pakistan, Islam and Iran. Approximately 140 participants will attend.”

Though Arizona Senator John McCain seldom talks about it, he has gotten much of his foreign policy experience working with a cloak and dagger operation called the International Republican Institute (IRI). Since 1993, McCain has served as Chair of the outfit, which is funded by the U.S. government and private money. The group, which receives tens of millions of taxpayer dollars each year, claims to promote democracy world-wide. On the surface at least, IRI seems to have a rather innocuous agenda including party building, media training, the organization of leadership trainings, dissemination of newsletters, and strengthening of civil society.

An Ohio Democratic lawmaker and former presidential candidate has presented articles of impeachment against President George W. Bush to Congress.
Thirty-five articles were presented by Rep. Dennis Kucinich to the House of Representatives late Monday evening, airing live on C-SPAN.
“The House is not in order,” said Kucinich to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), upon which Pelosi pounded her gavel.

Then we borrowed billions from the Chinese to rebuild the Iraqi bridges. Meanwhile, bridges in the United States are collapsing and thousands of our bridges are rated structurally deficient. David Walker, former Comptroller General of the United States, has warned that the current unfunded liability for future Social Security and Medicare payments is $53 trillion, or $455,000 per household. This unfunded liability increases by $7 billion per day. To quote Mr. Walker, “We are mortgaging the future of our children and grandchildren at record rates, and that is not only an issue of fiscal irresponsibility, it’s an issue of immorality.”

Israel has reportedly started to set up an ‘Iran Command’ within its air force as part of preparations for a possible war against Iran.
According to reports by unnamed Israeli military sources, the regime’s air force has launched ‘Iran Command’ to coordinate operations to ‘confront the growing threat from Tehran’.
