A Court Victory for [Ron Paul] Republicans in Texas
Wednesday afternoon in Harris County Texas, Judge Tom Sullivan issued a temporary restraining order to a group of Republican delegates and bc politicsparty officials seeking to force the state Republican convention to comply with Texas election law and elect officers for the convention before conducting other convention business.
While many of those involved in the suit were activists associated with the Ron Paul campaign, the suit also attracted many concerned mainstream Republicans and party officials who believe that the way that state conventions have been run in the past gives too much power to entrenched interests and limits the input of the party rank and file.
While this ruling certainly marks a major victory for Ron Paul supporters and other pro-liberty activists in a primary season which has given them much frustration, it is also a necessary response to long-standing problems in the Texas Republican Party which have limited participation and tightly limited power to an elite faction largely dominated by the religious right.

Ron Paul Has Strong Showing in Final Primaries
Presidential candidate Ron Paul received a total of over 45,000 votes in business wirethe final three Republican presidential primaries on June 3. Dr. Paul’s strongest showing was in Montana, where he garnered 22 percent of the vote, followed by 17 percent in South Dakota and 14 percent in New Mexico respectively.

GOP Convention vs. Ron Paul Convention
If the Ron Paul Revolution (RPR) thinks that they can beat the state GOP politickernvin a fair fight, they may wait until their convention in July to take over. This gives both sides time to come up with a better strategy, and it takes away the state GOP argument that the Revolution is having a fake convention that should not be recognized.

Why Ron Paul Won in 2008
Ron Paul won in 2008, by taking the Ron-Paul-071807exact opposite approach of most politicians. Instead of coalition building, compromising, pandering and standing for nothing and everything at the same time, Paul explicitly denounced the problems we have created and boldly proclaimed the solutions found in freedom and liberty. Ron Paul has mobilized many in the coming generation to build a better future. This long-term investment may not have resulted in an immediate gratification, but over time, compounded with interest, this movement may very well pay off.

Richert: Idaho GOP would be foolish to ignore the Ron Paul effect
First, there’s no question Ron Paul was a huge factor in the primary. You idaho statesmansimply cannot ignore Paul’s 24 percent showing - and the mainstream GOP would be crazy to do so. Combine that showing with an overall low voter turnout and you have a formula that worked very favorably for conservative candidates on the ballot.

The Mises Review - The Revolution: A Manifesto
The Iraq war has not only caused death and ludwig von misesdestruction abroad. It has The Revolution: A Manifestodamaged our civil liberties at home. The “misnamed Patriot Act” (p. 114), as Paul aptly terms this nefarious piece of legislation, allows the administration to arrest and hold without trial anyone it wishes, not excepting American citizens. Were not such lettres de cachet a cause of the French Revolution? Even John Ashcroft, hardly a civil libertarian, had before his accession to the cabinet condemned measures like those he was later to enforce. “While a U.S. Senator during the Clinton years, Ashcroft warned about proposed invasions of privacy” (p. 117). Paul, not content with criticism, has proposed concrete legislation to end this outrage.
Ron Paul’s outstanding book is must reading for everyone who values liberty.

Digg Debate: Obama vs. Ron Paul - Policy Showdown
Taken from the first comment on this Digg article:
Obama this is not looking good for you. I see you support the Patriot Act, REAL ID, and the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act… all of which are not supported by Ron Paul. And WTF is this Obama - A $900 Billion Dollar Global Poverty Act??? Are you joking? America needs actual, meaningful change - not vague promises and pandering. Right now health care costs are skyrocketing, the dollar is plummeting, and crooks in Washington are spending your Social Security money into oblivion. Obama’s cradle to grave welfare nanny state ideas are not the solution.

Letter To The National GOP
We feel it is our obligation as Americans to let you know our positions and reasons. You may ignore this letter and our signatures, or act upon them. The choice is yours. Win the Presidency in 2008 with Ron Paul, or lose with “Party Unity” and John McCain.
We, the undersigned, pledge to NOT vote for GOP candidate Senator John McCain. We declare that we WILL vote for GOP candidate Representative Dr. Ron Paul as President of the United States of America for the reasons expressed above.

Edie Beale Endorses Ron Paul
Christine Ebersole played Jackie Kennedy Onassis’s kooky relatives in new yorkGrey Gardens, but that doesn’t mean she’s heeding Caroline Kennedy’s endorsement of Barack Obama. “I go where the revolution is,” the registered Republican said at the Sex and the City premiere on May 27. “And the revolution is Ron Paul.” “Ron Paul is a champion of the Constitution. He’s about getting rid of the Federal Reserve and shrinking federal government,” Ebersole said. “The water’s rising. It’s around our necks right now, and the other candidates are trying to lure us to sleep with these sound-bite fairy tales.

Ron Paul People Watching the Suicide of the GOP

deadrepublican-elephantMcCain is so liberal that angry Clinton supporters have no problem voting for McCain instead of Obama.
This is great, as far as the GOP is concerned.
McCain’s positions are intolerable to true Republicans and conservatives, in spite of the hideously delivered false rhetoric of McCain’s speech. He would be happy to illegally spy on Americans, just as Bush does.
As we discussed here before, McCain broke his own laws, McCain/Feingold, and then got a reprieve from the president, instead of being slapped down as a lawbreaker.

Republican Party Convention 2008 - No Integrity
The real dirty tricks started once the Nominating Committee Report was announced. The committee allowed only 18 candidates on the National Delegate ballot of which 14 were the “party appointed national delegates.” **sarcasm** What a coincidence! The mailer was sent, the giant banners were printed in advance, the glossy magazines published, and by some stroke of luck, all of them made it through committee! Could it it have been pre-planned? Could this have been orchestrated weeks in advance? **sarcasm**

Confirmation from Senate Intel. Committee (finally): Bush lied about Iraq
The Senate Intelligence Committee finally issued its report on prewar intelligence during build up to the Iraq War — and in the very nice language of the U.S. Senate — the report confirms that Bush lied to the American people about the Iraq War…

(WRH: Okay, here is where the rubber meets the road; what is the Senate going to DO about it? And when the Senate fails to do anything about it, what will YOU do? Because if you do not do something about a President who lied us into Iraq (and is trying to lie us into Iran) then all future Presidents will feel they have the right to lie us into more wars with impunity. We can win a future of peace for all the worlds by tarring and feathering just one lying fink and the enablers in the media and government who helped him do it. Or we can condemn our children and grandchildren to endless wars and privations. It is time to decide.)

NEW YORK CITY BALLOT INITIATIVE COULD BRING 9-11 UNDER RENEWED SCRUTINY

Donald Rumsfeld on 9/11: An enemy within
Matthew Everett
Online Journal Contributing Writer

What was Rumsfeld doing on 9/11? He deserted his post. He disappeared. The country was under attack. Where was the guy who controls America’s defense? Out of touch! –A senior White House official

On September 11, 2001, the United States suffered its worst attack since Pearl Harbor. Yet, as evidence shows, the country was in many ways undefended for the entire duration of the assault. The Air Force was nowhere to be seen until it was too late. [1] The commander in chief of the armed forces, President George W. Bush, continued with a pre-planned photo op at a school in Florida, only leaving the place at 9:35, just before the time the Pentagon was struck. [2] The acting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Richard Myers was on Capitol Hill. Despite seeing the television reports of the World Trade Center after it was first hit, he continued with a scheduled meeting there, and supposedly was not notified when the second plane hit at 9:03. He therefore did not head back to the Pentagon until around the time it too was hit, and only joined the critical air threat conference call shortly before 10 a.m. By that time, the attacks were nearly over. The Plane Truth Project REDUX - June 11th - Look to the skies . . . No new evidence of al Qaeda threat despite report: U.S.
JoAnne Allen

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - There is no evidence of a direct threat from al Qaeda or that the group has obtained weapons of mass destruction, U.S. intelligence officials said on Tuesday, despite reports that al Qaeda will release a new video urging jihadists to use such weapons to attack the West.

Group sues over convention rules
A cadre of GOP activists filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Texas dallas morning newsRepublican Party over how its leaders will conduct business at next week’s state party convention in Houston.
The group’s coordinator, Ron Paul supporter Debra Medina of Wharton County, said the activists want to ensure enforcement of the state election code and have a chairman elected before any official business is conducted at the convention.
That way, challenges to more than 200 convention delegates can be fully debated and fairly resolved, Medina said. Typically, the state party waits until the second day of the convention to select a chairman, she said.
