Appeals court rules Texas acted improperly in removing FLDS children
An Austin appeals court has ruled that Texas child welfare authorities acted improperly in removing more than 450 children from the FLDS Church’s YFZ Ranch.

ELDORADO, Texas — An Austin appeals court has ruled that Texas child welfare authorities acted improperly in removing more than 450 children from the FLDS Church’s YFZ Ranch.

The 3rd Court of Appeals ruled on a legal challenge by a group of FLDS mothers seeking to have their children returned to them immediately.

Lawyers for the mothers said the ruling only affects 38 FLDS mothers and their children, but they expect it will be interpreted by the courts to include the hundreds of other children taken in the early April raid.

And now the entire Bush team is denying it in the New York Times. We think they doth protest too much.

It may be the mother of all doom and gloom gas price predictions: $12 for a gallon of gas is “inevitable.”

Robert Hirsch, Management Information Services Senior Energy Advisor, gave a dire warning about the potential future of gas prices on CNBC’s May 20 “Squawk Box”. He told host Becky Quick there was no single thing that would solve the problem, due to the enormity of the problem.

“[T]he prices that we’re paying at the pump today are, I think, going to be ‘the good old days,’ because others who watch this very closely forecast that we’re going to be hitting $12 and $15 per gallon,” Hirsch said. “And then, after that, when oil – world oil production goes into decline, we’re going to talk about rationing. In other words, not only are we going to be paying high prices and have considerable economic problems, but in addition to that, we’re not going to be able to get the fuel when we want it.”

Why then was the media giving presidential candidate Ron Paul a hard time about making this an issue in his campaign when plans for both have been in place?

Perhaps it is because the other major candidates don’t want to talk about it as they are all in one way or another connected with the elite group of power brokers, the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations), which in March of 2005 issued a report titled “Creating A North American Community,” calling for the elimination of the borders of America in order to create regional and then world government.

Every day I read the letters over coffee as my first attempt to get a modesto beegood laugh. Everybody who writes their opinions always seems to have a solution to everything: higher gas costs, higher food costs, socialists’ concerns, global warming, our drop in the dollar, tax breaks, gay marriage, City Council pay raises, prayer in schools, our next president, on and on. I was fortunate to obtain the New York Times best-selling book, “The Revolution: A Manifesto,” by Ron Paul, who seems to put it all together. Maybe we should take a closer look at all his silly ideas.

Goldman Sachs analyst Arjun N Murti is no ordinary forecaster. But in March 2005, when crude oil was trading at $55 a barrel in the global market, he was scoffed at for predicting that oil prices would experience a ’super spike’ and cross $105 a barrel.

No one is laughing at him anymore. In fact, people are shivering at his latest forecast: crude oil prices may touch $200 in the next two years, says a New York Times report.

With oil prices smashing past $135 a barrel for the first time on Thursday, continuing the astonishing rise following unexpected drops in US crude and gasoline stocks in a tight market, the 39-year-old Murti’s prediction seems frightening close to turning into reality.
