Adjourn Your Asses!
The brightest signal of this has been the ability of Ron Paul activists, reason hit & runutterly ignored by the mainstream media, to storm state conventions and take delegates.
Working in McCain’s favor: Those state GOP leaders really hate Ron Paul activists. And they’re good at changing rules at the last minute to save McCain from humiliation. Take Missouri, where Paul activists were ejected from the 2nd district (St. Louis suburbs) convention.

Peter Schiff interview
A very interesting interview with Ron Paul 2008 Economic Advisor Peter daily doseSchiff has been posted on Mises.org. I think that this interview is good to recommend to friends and family who may not be familiar with economic issues, as Mr. Schiff plainly lays out the problems we face and possible solutions for them.

THE CAMERA EYES IN ON ISRAEL… AND LIES
A pro-Israel pressure group is orchestrating a secret, long-term campaign to infiltrate the popular online encyclopedia Wikipedia to rewrite Palestinian history, pass off crude propaganda as fact, and take over Wikipedia administrative structures to ensure these changes go either undetected or unchallenged.

The Revolution: A Manifesto: A review by Scott Horton

Paul explains, is a hidden tax, one that hurts the poor, working and retired people most for the benefit of these war-mongering plutocrats. They try to make the system seem too mysterious for the average guy to understand but it’s not. Stealing is stealing. The central bank causes the booms and busts they claim to “smooth out” with their process of artificially inflating the supply of money, causing bubbles of malinvestment in the market and setting us up for recessions. Man found in Lady Bird Lake was teacher, FBI target
Austin police said Thursday that they are leaning toward a ruling of suicide in the death of a middle school teacher and activist whose body was found Wednesday in Lady Bird Lake with his hands and legs bound and tape over his eyes. Police identified Riad Hamad, 55, at a news conference Thursday and said the binding of his limbs and the placement of the tape was consistent with Hamad having done it himself.

Japan’s hunger becomes a dire warning for other nations
While soaring food prices have triggered rioting among the starving millions of the third world, in wealthy Japan they have forced a pampered population to contemplate the shocking possibility of a long-term — perhaps permanent — reduction in the quality and quantity of its food. A 130% rise in the global cost of wheat in the past year, caused partly by surging demand from China and India and a huge injection of speculative funds into wheat futures, has forced the Government to hit flour millers with three rounds of stiff mark-ups. The latest — a 30% increase this month — has given rise to speculation that Japan, which relies on imports for 90% of its annual wheat consumption, is no longer on the brink of a food crisis, but has fallen off the cliff.

A New Struggle is Beginning in Iraq
The old war was primarily between the Sunni community — which contested the American occupation — and an Iraqi government dominated by the Shia in alliance with the Kurds. That conflict has not ended. But the most important battles likely to be waged in Iraq this year will be within the Shia community. They pit the US-backed Iraqi government against the supporters of the radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, who represents the impoverished Shia masses of Iraq.

Sunday: 108 Iraqis Killed, 60 Wounded
Early reports from Sadr City and Baghdad suggest that fighting between the Mahdi army and security forces has increased. Meanwhile, two mass graves were found in Diyala province. At least 108 Iraqis were killed and another 60 were wounded in violence across Iraq. No Coalition deaths were reported.

Global Warming and the Iraq War
The war is responsible for at least 141 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MMTCO2e) since March 2003. To put this in perspective, CO2 released by the war to date equals the emissions from putting 25 million more cars on the road in the US this year. (WRH:This is why we know the Global Warming cult is all about tricking out of money and freedom, because the very same people screaming about forcing you to pay a carbon tax seldom make much fuss about the Iraq war’s impact on the climate.)

12 Answers to Questions No One Is Asking About Iraq
Can there be any question that, since the invasion of 2003, Iraq has been unraveling? And here’s the curious thing: Despite a lack of decent information and analysis on crucial aspects of the Iraqi catastrophe, despite the way much of the Iraq story fell off newspaper front pages and out of the TV news in the last year, despite so many reports on the “success” of the president’s surge strategy, Americans sense this perfectly well.

GOP cracks down on Ron Paul activists
Within minutes, amid a mix of cheers and protests, district GOP leaders stltodaydisqualified almost half of the convention delegates or alternates — most of them suspected supporters of the Texas congressman’s presidential bid.

Ron Paul’s Delegate Wars (II)
Ask Ron Paul why he remains in the Republican race for President, and nolanhe will speak about giving true conservatives someone to vote for. Ask him what he hopes to accomplish, and he will mention adopting a conservative platform, winning the battle of ideas, rallying a new generation to the cause, and the like. All noble and worthy objectives. However, there are hints that something else may be afoot. Thus the true believers continue the rEVOLution by fighting the Delegate Wars — scoring some big wins along the way, as this week’s featured states show.
