Vice President Cheney’s official autobiography - The Untold Story of America’s Most Powerful and Controversial Vice President, by Stephen F. Hayes - blatantly conflicts previous reports and time lines about the events of 9/11 and the 9/11 commission report. The autobiography says in reference to the Flight 93 crash:

“Everyone had the same question, says Rice referring to the WTC Towers demolition. “Was it down because it had been shot down or had it crashed?” Rice and Cheney were both filled with “intense emotion,” she recalls, because they both made the same assumption. “His first thought, my first thought–we had exactly the same reaction–was it must have been shot down by the fighters. And you know, that’s a pretty heady moment, a pretty heavy burden.”

And it goes on to say: For several impossible minutes, Cheney believed that a pilot following his orders had brought down a plane full of civilians in rural Pennsylvania. Even then, he had no regrets.

But a CNN report on September 11, 2002 states otherwise:

“The vice president was a little bit ahead of us,” said Eric Edelman, Cheney’s national security advisor. “He said sort of softly and to nobody in particular, ‘I think an act of heroism just took place on that plane.’”

The anomalies and conflicts are astounding, but like with many other 9/11 events and facts, they are ignored by the main stream media.  The time line discrepancies between Norman Mineta’s 9/11 commission testimony and Cheney’s assertions raise a lot of unanswered questions also:

9:20 AM - Mineta reaches the White House bunker to find Cheney already there with others.  In later testimony before the 9/11 Commission, he recalls that Cheney is already there when he arrives and supports accounts of Cheney reaching the bunker not long after the second WTC crash, but the 9/11 Commission concludes Cheney doesn’t arrive until a few minutes before 10:00 a.m.

Mineta says that, while a suspicious plane is heading toward Washington, an unidentified young man comes in and says to Cheney, “The plane is 50 miles out.” Mineta confers with Acting FAA Deputy Administrator Monte Belger, who is at the FAA’s Washington headquarters. Belger says to him, “We’re watching this target on the radar, but the transponder’s been turned off. So we have no identification.” According to Mineta, the young man continues updating the vice president, saying, “The plane is 30 miles out,” and when he gets down to “The plane is 10 miles out,” asks, “Do the orders still stand?” In response, Cheney “whipped his neck around and said, ‘Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?’”

What does Norman Mineta and others stand to gain by falsifying time lines? Why was Mineta’s Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) testimony edited out of the 9/11 Commission video archive?

A third aircraft is on it’s way to the Middle East, the U.S. Navy said Tuesday, in a move that bolstered U.S. military capability at a time of tension with Iran and increased operations in Iraq. The Navy confirmed the departure of a nuclear-powered USS Enterprise from it’s home port of Norfolk, Virginia, with about 5,500 American sailors and marines.

The Bush administration is apparently carrying out PNAC’s (Project for a New American Century) agenda and ’spreading peace through strength’ and possibly preparing to attack Iran. Is this good policy for America and for true global peace and prosperity? Does America need or want more war and politics of fear?

The Enterprise will provide “power to counter the assertive, disruptive and coercive behavior of some countries, as well as support for our soldiers and marines in Iraq and Afghanistan,” said Vice Admiral Kevin J. Cosgriff, the commander of the Bahrain-based U.S. 5th Fleet. Cosgriff said the Enterprise transports about 70 attack, fighter and detection planes, as well as four helicopters. These will “contribute to stability” and ensure the “free flow of commerce in the region,” he said.

Will Mr. Bush stand aboard the Enterprise and declare mission accomplished again in vain? Will he announce that we are winning the war on terror while standing in military garb on the poop deck? The ‘war on terror’, or also termed by some - ‘the war of terror’, is a spring-board for war upon war with whomever is deemed a terrorist or aiding terrorism.

“The West needs more terror attacks on the scale of 9/11 and 7/7 in order to save a failing foreign policy”, says Lt.-Col. Doug Delaney, chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario. This alarming admission can be found right at the end of a long and academic Toronto Star article about the history of conflict and why the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq are doomed. Does Presidet Bush and Vice President Cheney care? Are we on the road to tyranny?

“I’m the commander in chief, see, I don’t need to explain, I do not need to explain why I say things. That’s the interesting part about being president. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don’t feel like I owe anybody an explanation.”

George W. Bush, quoted in Bob Woodward’s book ‘Bush at War’

Back in January, Vice President Cheney said the deployment of a second aircraft-carrier task force to the Persian Gulf delivered a “strong signal” of the United States’ commitment to confront Iran’s growing influence in the region. Cheney went on to say “We are doing what we can to try to resolve issues such as the nuclear question diplomatically through the United Nations, but we’ve also made it clear that we haven’t taken any options off the table.”

Countries in the Middle East “want us to have a major presence there,” Cheney said in a Newsweek interview published online. Referring to the deployment of the carrier USS John C. Stennis, Cheney said, “That sends a very strong signal to everybody in the region that the United States is here to stay, that we clearly have significant capabilities, and that we are working with friends and allies as well as the international organizations to deal with the Iranian threat.”

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.”

James Madison (1751-1836), 4th U.S. President and author of the U.S. Constitution

PNAC’s aim is to remind Americans of these lessons and to draw their consequences for today. Here are four consequences as listed on The New American Centuries website:

• we need to increase defense spending significantly if we are to carry out our global responsibilities today and modernize our armed forces for the future;

• we need to strengthen our ties to democratic allies and to challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values;

• we need to promote the cause of political and economic freedom abroad;

• we need to accept responsibility for America’s unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles.

“…An empire is a despotism, and an emperor is a despot, bound by no law or limitation but his own will; it is a stretch of tyranny beyond absolute monarchy. For, although the will of an absolute monarch is law, yet his edicts must be registered by parliaments. Even this formality is not necessary in an empire.”

John Adams (1735-1826), 2nd American President

Bush said that Saddam Hussein was a homicidal dictator, which is true. Bush said that Saddam was addicted to weapons of mass destruction, which turned up empty. Is President Bush a homicidal dictator hell-bent on war? Good politics and societies should cultivate fearlessness and hope.

Why have we adopted the Wolfowitz doctrine? It seems that PNAC’s agenda is not the answer to peace and prosperity, security and order. Is it only part of the New World order agenda? Is this really an anti-terror strategy, or the blueprint to control oil? Why are they targeting Iran next? Is it any wonder that Iran is #3 in oil reserves, and Iraq is #4? Have these radical conservatives hijacked our country, and all of humanity, by building up the size and scale of America’s military force to use more aggressively and unilaterally in building a new American Empire?

No War in Iran

Impeachery

Dick CheneyIs it our responsibility, right and duty to impeach President Bush and / or Vice President Cheney? For the sake of our children, grandchildren and all of humanity? After all, this administration lied us into a “100 year” war, fabricated for our minds a false link to Saddam Hussein and 9/11, ignored our military generals, killed thousands of Americans and Iraqis, subverted the constitution to stifle dissent and exploited all of us by creating fear and terror.

Nearly half of the US public wants the President to face impeachment, and even more favor that fate for the Vice President, according to a poll out Friday. A survey by the American Research Group found that 45 percent support the House of Representatives beginning impeachment proceedings against Bush, with 46 percent opposed, and a 54-40 split in favor when it comes to Cheney.

Impeaching sends a message to the world that WE - the American people - do not support the unlawful actions, lies and crimes against humanity of this presidency and we take action now for peace, justice and for future generations. This patriotism displays the true strength and might of America.

How can Mr. Cheney announce that he is above the law and get away with it? How can Mr. Bush commute Mr. Libby’s sentence when it is unethical and the conflict of interest is obvious?

Harry Reid, the Democratic leader in the Senate, described Mr Bush’s actions as “disgraceful”. Charles Schumer, a Democratic senator, echoed this: “As independence day passes, we’re reminded that one of the principles our forefathers fought for was equal justice under the law. This administration tramples on that principle.”

The unjust commuting of Scooter Libby’s prison sentence, and the probable pardon to follow have more people standing up and speaking out for impeachment. Many believe the reason behind the Libby decision is that fact that the Bush administration knows full well that Libby took the rap for his criminal masters. Back in March a spokesman for the jury that convicted Libby told reporters that many felt sympathy for him and believed he was only the “fall guy.” In the past 10 days alone, Mr. Cheney was subpoenaed to testify before Congress about the Bush administration’s warrantless wiretapping program, stirring controversy by declaring himself exempt from laws regarding classified material, and is the subject of a four-part Washington Post investigative series detailing his unprecedented influence on the U.S.’s security strategy since 9/11.

Congressmen Dennis Kucinich, presidential candidate for 2008, drafted H.Res. 333 that list the following three charges for the impeachment of Dick Cheney:

First Charge:

Cheney has purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States by fabricating a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction to justify the use of the United States Armed Forces against the nation of Iraq in a manner damaging to our national security interests, to wit:

Second Charge:

Cheney purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda in order to justify the use of the United States Armed Forces against the nation of Iraq in a manner damaging to our national security interests, to wit:

Third Charge:

Cheney has openly threatened aggression against the Republic of Iran absent any real threat to the United States, and done so with the United States proven capability to carry out such threats, thus undermining the national security of the United States, to wit:

Additional Charges Not Contained in H Res 333

Fourth Charge:

Cheney led a campaign of retribution against whistleblower Joseph Wilson, including the outing of a covert CIA operative.

Fifth Charge:

Cheney led efforts to torture.

Sixth Charge:

Cheney played a key role in setting up illegal spying programs.

Seventh Charge:

Cheney led manipulation of pre-war intelligence.

Eighth Charge:

Cheney created the secret Energy Task Force which operated in defiance of open-government laws.

Ninth Charge:

Cheney’s lawyer, David Addington, advocated the “Unitary Executive Theory” which is used by the White House to defy laws duly enacted by Congress and thereby justify dictatorial action.

Tenth Charge:

Cheney directed massive no-bid contracts to his company, Halliburton, and profitted from the same illegal war he defrauded the American public to launch.

Eleventh Charge:

Cheney increased the danger of climate change.

On the day of H.Res. 333’s introduction, Speaker of the House Nanci Pelosi, is reported to have said that impeachment proceedings would be a distraction from passing Democratic policies. During the campaign for the 2006 midterm election, Pelosi stated that impeachment was “off the table.”

The polls indicate that Americans feel Congress is failing us and not listening to the will of the people. America is off the table if we don’t act. We are blessed with liberty and must demonstrate our will to protect this sanctity. After all, they aren’t going to resign, are they?
